Creating A Country Home Interior Design

The country home is a cross-cultural symbol of cozy, simple living. In England, deep red and green enhance abundant floral patterns and thatched roofing. In France, the scent of lavender embraces guests from sachets, linens, and gardens. American country home interior design sports a cross of leather and ironware furnishings.
These styles all share a celebration of life's everyday activities and a friendly atmosphere. This is an easy design to implement, and having not attended interior design school shouldn't hold anyone back from attempting it.
Informality Leads the Way
No one room should be planned except for the basic placement of furniture. Country home interior design emphasizes a lived in feel where things are collected over time. Free from hints of time constraint or endless responsibilities, country design offers a refuge where we can appreciate the things that actually mean something to us.
Quilts from some of every family member's clothing or watercolor sketches by a friend who has passed warm the heart and bring moments of gratefulness during the busy day. These are the types of items that should be focal points when designing a country home interior.
Warm toned wood works well in country home interior design, and should be used generously. Wood trimming on the walls is a hallmark of country architecture but not a requirement. Floors that are lighter than the walls around them create the illusion of a larger room and vice versa. Soft worn fabrics and mixed textures should adorn the furniture in a country home interior design.
To achieve this, chairs and couches can be covered with blankets, and bare floors covered with latch work or braided rugs. Too many groups of small objects makes a room cluttered, so these items should put in one or two places for display. Multiple groupings of pictures are an exception to this rule if they have the same type of frame for each photo in a group. This causes them to be perceived as one object instead of many.
Importance of the Kitchen
Aesthetic and functionality are the ideals of decoration in country home interior design. No where is this more obvious than in the kitchen. The kitchen, where we nourish our bodies and souls, is the center of the country home.
Cloudy blue and sunshine yellow mingle to suggest warmth and sincerity. One of these colors should be a principal member of the color palette used here. Hanging cookware, window gardens, and hand painted stepping stools are suitable accessories for the country kitchen.

Logos Are Essential In Developing A Brand

The marketplace would be boring without logos. When it comes to the swoosh and the golden arches logo most people recognize them immediately. Even as early as in our childhood we start recognizing various company logos. As one mother has stated, when her son was only three years old he was able to tell the brand of a truck by the logo on it as it came down the road. Some people even wear clothing with product and company logos, and some furniture and home decor have logos on them to display.
Logos are consider one of the forms of brand recognition, and they're more than just something used by the country's huge corporations. By using logos, these small businesses can build the brand recognition with the people in their community and the surrounding areas. Include it in your business signature, on your car, in your phone book ad, in coupons, on business cards, on stationary and in your website's news section.

Even as utilizing a logo is easy enough, designing one is a whole other ballpark. References on the Internet go into a few simple errors as far as logos are concerned. The first mistake that many people will make is to use clip-art in their logo. Many people can recognize many clip-art pictures and designs when placed in front of us. As a case study, a firm was utilizing what is referred to as a string bean man that they obtained off of a popular clip art database. Such an image will make your organization come across as unprofessional and my reduce your potential customer's faith and confidence in your product or service.

A second common misstep involves the utilization of a logo with only text. Text only logos also generally lack the visual appeal that makes a logo stay in the minds of a prospective customer. You don't want them to have to remember too much. Yes, there are some text logos out there that have been quite successful, but they are few and far between.

On the other hand, very intricate designs should also be avoided. Fancy, photographic special effects can make an image look muddy and unappealing when in print. Ensure that your logo appears terrific as a black and white version. Newspapers and telephone books often prefer black and white images. Color logos will be copied and faxed as well, whether you know it or not. The logo has to look good once it has been changed to black and white in a fax machine.

If you can afford it, hiring a professional designer to develop a logo for your company is a good investment. There was a sweepstakes game developed in 2000 that had a graphic designer on the development team who created its logo. The result was a memorable, fun and simple product which the pros indicated in the criteria of producing the logo. It also transferred well into black and white from its original red and green.

That graphic designer was quite an asset to have on the team. Graphic designers are fantastic people to know. But if you don't, you will have to go looking for one. Designers are not difficult to track down. All you have to do is Google the term 'logo', then you will see what I'm talking about.

One columnist from a website suggests that you do not simply choose the first or second companies whose names come up in a search list. His suggestion is to take your time and locate four or five companies that have portfolios you find you like, and that they fall within your price range. You should also take into account how well they work with their customers in cases like refunds, tech support, as well as things like what kind of formats they offer their files, and how much opportunity they give you to revise your logo.

Check out the graphic designers and marketing consultants in your own area. You should always remember that your logo is an investment, just like your website. A bad decision may leave probable clients feeling curious as to whether or not you could have done a better job, which ultimately falls back on your company's reputation. If you make a good investment which produces a well-designed logo that will be remembered, you'll be promoting an image of both you and your company that will also be in sync with the company's mission.

Stained Glass Memories

Have you grown up with a stained glass memory? Many of us can remember the first time we experienced the treat of watching the sun pour in through one of these colored glass windows. There is absolutely nothing like it. This wonderful sight stirs the imagination and therefore creates a memory that cannot be erased.
Stained glass windows have decorated churches throughout the world for many, many years. These windows are used to enhance the radiance of the church, depict Biblical stories, and portray the image of Christ and the cross. As children, we entered these places of worship and were filled with awe at their beauty and majesty. Our minds wandered thinking of the stories and people that were represented in the glass. We became excited as we watched the sun shine in and bounce colors off the walls. We continued to watch as the sun would go behind the clouds, the windows would darken and their appearances change. Patiently we waited for the sun to peek out again, knowing how wonderful it was to watch the windows and the images they portrayed come to life. Stained glass memories filled our minds.

Beginning in the Victorian era, people started decorating their homes with these amazing windows and in the last hundred years or so this trend has become quite popular. I grew up in a turn of the century two story house and we were blessed to have both a leaded glass door with leaded transoms on each side and also two stained glass windows adorning the living and dining areas. I loved these windows as a child. I especially loved how the sun created dozens of brilliant rainbows on our parquet floors. My imagination would run wild staring into the abstract stained windows as I would always see the face of a lion in one of them. It was so exciting and mysterious watching how the brightness of the sun and the time of day would change the appearance of these windows. Stained glass memories filled my mind.

Fortunately my parents still live in that old house and now, when we visit, my children have the opportunity to delight in the rainbows on the floors and make their own special stained glass memories. Although my imagination isn’t what it used to be as a child, I still adore the beauty and life that these unique windows bring into their environments.

Eclectic Touches for Your Trendy Home

Eclectic decorating takes using a mixture of styles and pulling them together to produce a cohesive feel. The great thing about an eclectic style is that you can merge any pieces that you enjoy. Maybe you love the clean lines of modern decor, but want to add a few conventional or country homespun pieces. Perhaps you love French country but want to add currentpieces as well. Eclectic decorating methos allow you to utilize a diversity of styles throughout the area to be decorated. A great eye for what appears to look good together is needed to pull off a true eclectically styled space. Decorating with a theme is easier because it helps to have a common thread. When creating an eclectic style, you need to discover acute similarities and contrasts. If you are attempting to create an eclectic room, try some of these tips.

Changing the Conventional Rules
The beginning step is to chuck all the rules. You will want to ignore that furniture is bought in sets, purchasing only the pieces that you like. After all, sets can be dull and predictable. In eclectic style, you do not have to limit your options to one kind of wood species. Instead of getting all oak or pine, buy different pieces in mahogany, cherry, and other types. The various pieces of furniture that you pick out should be a blend of different colors, styles, and textures. Think out of the box for wall embellishing ideas: An aged garden gate or an old window frame can be wall art or stand in for a headboard.

Achieving Balance in an Eclectic Room
You have to proportion things out. As an illustration, place an ornate rug beneath an oak hutch. A hardy oak table is evocative of the rural style, but bringing in a carpet that is brilliantly colored with navy blue, burgundy, and forest green grants the room a whole different look. Additional accents will modify the entire style of the room. For illustration, a burgundy colored candle in an Asian style brass wall sconce candle holder will pick up the color in the rug, and impart artistic elegance with an exotic flavoring. For chair coverings, you can apply navy blue fabric with cream trim. Antique china plates with a blue and white pattern are standard and are an ideal accent piece for a dining room. With these different elements, the space is a blend of country, contemporary, and quaint. The saturation of the colors are symmetrical throughout the area in the plates on the walls and the rug. In addition to an unusual motif, these pieces also have a light backdrop in common. Other elements, such as rooster plates are too rustic and would have thrown the room off. There are a number of things that pull this room together. For one thing, the accent colors all have the same chroma and are spread throughout the room. Oak furniture tends to blend into the background amid richer pieces, toning down the theme of the space. Uncomplicated modern-day chairs are just subtle enough to merge with your motif. Simple oak furniture and matching linen coverings can work well to neutralize more exotic accents.

Employing Fewer Pieces
Be careful to not exaggerate it when executing your eclectic elements. The best thing is to try arranging different pieces together and seeing how they look. Arrange heavy pieces throughout the space as counterbalance is fundamental; you do not want heavy items set up together. Lucidity and depth of colors is fundamental. Pastels mix well because they are all clear and light.

How to Mix Individual Elements
Blending elements on unusual levels can help make an eclectic style work. You might choose to merge styles, like provincial and contemporary, and combine unique textiles with different woods. You can complete the feel by placing items from various styles, such as an old-fashioned vase and a modern table, next to each other. Mixing one piece from a different style into a room that is otherwise one style, will make it appear as if you decided to put a mismatched item into a room instead of a fashion motif.

Eclectic Areas to Adore
You are the one who has to live with the space, so position pieces you love in it. This can be as elementary as adding your favorite color with a piece of pottery, a contemporary sculpture or paintings and prints. You can fuse all of these items in one room by using the same color to unify the different pieces

What Does the Color Blue Mean for Your Room?

Blue is considered to be good for the mind and body because it seems to have a calming effect. It slows metabolism and is associated with tranquility and rest. For this reason, blue is a good color to use in bedrooms. These are rooms where you need to relax your body and your brain. Try a lighter color like those in the Trend Funnel.com Faded Cottage palette, particularly Misty Surf and Blue Dolphin because as pastels they are generally more soothing. Blue is especially nice for kids' rooms because, despite what society has forced on us for decades, it can be gender neutral. It's true that blue is generally associated with masculinity but I grew up with a baby blue room myself. These lighter shades of blue are perfect for girls because they represent softness. They can really stand the test of time when a girl is transitioning between her girly and tomboy stages.

In addition to peace and calm, Blue also brings to mind an image of cleanliness. That's why it's a good color in rooms that you want to be associated with cleanliness. Think of how clean and crisp a blue and white bathroom would look. And the exciting part is you can go a little wild with color! Try something that pops like Brilliant Blue in the Trend Funnel.com Nautical Gold palette or mix and match different shades of blue like those in the Trend Funnel.com Ocean Inspired collection.

Blue is okay in the kitchen unless your dining room table is located in the kitchen. If it is, avoid blue. It's a color that's known to suppress the appetite. If you have your heart set on a blue kitchen, try mixing scarce amounts of blue with a warmer color like red. This will allow you to entertain guests that are both impressed with your decorating skills and your cooking. Mixing cool and warm colors together will create vibrant designs that will make an impact, something you definitely want visitors to see.
